Editorial Principles
Editorial principles
1. No health claims
Olive oil is a food. We do not assert that polyphenols, oleic acid or any other component prevents, treats, improves or cures a condition. Composition figures are quoted from laboratory reports as measured. Reference thresholds such as the EU health-claim criterion (EC 432/2012) appear only as a point of comparison, never as a claim about a specific bottle.
2. Sources are named
External statistics, studies and standards are published with the issuing body and the date wherever possible. When a figure is superseded, we update the article and say when it changed.
3. Brands are third parties
OLEA is published and operated by Superwalk Inc.. Every brand we write about, including those connected to the publisher, is covered in the third person. No brand is presented as part of this magazine.
4. Only what is settled
Unconfirmed dates, partners, certifications and figures are left out of the article entirely. We do not publish projections or internal plans; when something is confirmed, the article is updated and dated.
5. We are not a news outlet
OLEA is not a registered news organisation. We do not use the language of breaking news or exclusives. What we publish are editor's notes, reviews and guides.
6. Corrections stay on the record
When we get something wrong we correct the article and note when the correction was made. We amend rather than delete.
